Description

EthicWise AI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that advocates responsible, inclusive, and practical AI ethics to students and communities. We’re seeking a Volunteer Writer to write short articles about responsible AI. Selected writings will be published on EthicWiseAI.Org, newsletters, social posts, and outreach materials to help students and educators understand AI’s real-world impact.

What you’ll do

• Research and write short essays on topics such as:
  • Responsible AI practices
  • AI ethics and real-world examples
  • AI inclusion and accessibility
  • Algorithmic fairness and bias mitigation
  • AI for social good and community projects
  • Equity and policy implications of AI
  • Other topics that are related to AI’s impact
• Prompts
  • Should schools use AI to grade homework? Why or why not?
  • Write about a time an algorithm surprised you (YouTube, TikTok, etc.)
  • If you could create one rule for all AI companies, what would it be?
  • How does social media's AI affect mental health?
  • Write about any topic related to AI Ethics
• All writing levels are welcome.

What we’re looking for

• Interested in AI ethics, social impact, education, or related fields.
• Familiarity with basic online research and citing sources.
• Prior experience writing for youth or education is a plus but not required.
• Students, teachers, educators, and anyone interested in writing for AI is welcome.

Time commitment & benefits

• Time: Remote, flexible, and project-based.
• Certified volunteer service hours: Earn volunteer service hours for each approved short essay of around 500 words. There is no limit on the number of submissions. Use it for school or extracurricular requirements.
• Resume builder : meaningful project experience you can list on college and job applications.
• Customized recommendation letter : strong contributors receive a tailored recommendation to support college or job applications.
• Thought leadership & global impact : Show your thought leadership about artificial intelligence (AI) on EthicWiseAI.Org and educate students around the world. Note: Only selected articles will be published with the author's permission.
