Matanuska Susitna College (MSC) | UAA Student Services (SS) is seeking a self-starter Enrollment Specialist to be part of our exciting and dynamic team! Student Services encompasses Admissions and Recruitment, Financial Aid, Academic & Career Advising, Disability Support, as well as active duty and Veteran support. This position assists the Admission & Records Supervisor by handling communication, organizing the calendar, and coordinating projects. This position welcomes and directs visitors and clients. Meets with a diverse student population, including prospective students by answering questions about the university, areas of study, and opportunities for students. Make appointments and provide tours of the campus when the Admission Representative is unavailable. Additionally, the Enrollment Specialist will work closely with the Administrative Services Fiscal Coordinator to make necessary purchases on behalf of the Student Services Department.
To thrive in this role, a successful candidate must be a strong communicator with organizational and time management skills. The successful candidate should be proficient in Microsoft office and be able to adapt quickly to new systems. This candidate should be comfortable with the frequent interruptions that accompany a busy service-oriented office and academic environment. The ideal candidate would have some experience in event coordination and executive level administrative support. We welcome applicants who would enjoy serving as the primary point of contact for all staff within Student Services, and excels at problem solving, working on special projects, while simultaneously handling the detailed daily work that is key to this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year college coursework in a related field and one year relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Matanuska-Susitna campus in Palmer, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 76, based on education and experience.
