Safety Worxs is seeking a Safety Manager in Ellendale, North Dakota.

The Construction Safety Manager is a pivotal, site-based position tasked with driving safety strategies and ensuring compliance on complex data center construction projects. This role demands extensive knowledge of construction safety regulations, strong leadership skills, and a proven history of managing safety programs in mission-critical or high-hazard settings. The ideal candidate will have the experience and confidence to work independently on-site, influence contractors at all levels, and enhance the safety culture among stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the on-site execution of the Construction Safety Program, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local regulations as well as internal standards.
  • Act as the primary safety authority on assigned projects, overseeing contractor compliance, site inspections, and hazard mitigation plans.
  • Drive continuous safety improvement through coaching, leadership presence, and collaboration with general contractors and subcontractor teams.
  • Conduct jobsite safety audits, risk assessments, and proactive walkthroughs to identify and resolve unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; ensure proper documentation and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Organize and lead daily safety briefings, safety stand-downs, and job hazard analysis (JHA) reviews.
  • Interface directly with project management, construction leadership, and third-party stakeholders to align safety expectations and resolve site issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training records, permits, safety logs, and incident reports using digital safety platforms.
  • Support the integration of environmental compliance, emergency preparedness, and site sustainability practices into project workflows.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior safety staff or field coordinators, as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent field experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive safety experience in large-scale construction, with at least 5 years in a lead or site safety management role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing safety programs on hyperscale data center, semiconductor, energy, or industrial construction projects.

Preferred:

  • OSHA 30-hour required; OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
