Job Description

A leading food manufacturer is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join its team in Baltimore . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a company known for quality, innovation, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update all plant safety and environmental programs (e.g., Hazard Communication, Lockout-Tagout, PPE, Emergency Response).
• Facilitate Safety Committee meetings, including agendas, attendance, and compliance audits.
• Ensure timely and accurate safety inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Lead safety training initiatives, including new hire orientation and ongoing employee education.
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Keep all safety-related documentation current and compliant with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with HR and plant management to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
• Perform regular audits of the plant and distribution center.
• Oversee safety-related inspections (fire equipment, AEDs, hoists, ladders, etc.).
• Administer drug screenings and maintain labor law postings.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in a safety-related role (manufacturing preferred).
• Familiarity with OSHA General Industry regulations.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience in organizations with 500+ employees preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Moderate physical activity; standing/walking for extended periods.
• Frequent work in cold, wet environments (28-35°F).
• Collaborative, diverse team environment.
