Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

We're seeking a qualified interpreter to support deaf and hard of hearing students in achieving their academic goals through expert remote interpretation.

Position Description

This virtual interpreting position focuses on delivering prehensive sign language interpretation services for students in online educational programs. You'll utilize advanced virtual technology to ensure clear munication and educational accessibility across diverse grade levels and academic subjects.

Time mitment : 35-37.5 hours weekly Student Services : 19-29 students across multiple virtual classrooms Grade Levels : K-12 with emphasis on elementary and middle school Delivery Method : Live virtual interpretation using secure educational platforms

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation during virtual instruction
• Ensure student prehension and active participation in online learning activities
• Modify interpretation approach based on student age, academic level, and subject content
• Work collaboratively with virtual classroom teachers to optimize learning outes
• Maintain accurate documentation of interpretation services and student progress
• Participate in virtual IEP meetings and educational planning conferences
• Advocate for student munication needs within the virtual learning framework

Essential Qualifications

• EIPA Certification : 3.5 minimum score required
• School Experience : Minimum 2 years in educational interpreting roles
• Virtual petency : Experience with online platforms and remote munication
• Professional Ethics : Strong mitment to confidentiality and interpreting standards
• Flexibility : Ability to adapt to various educational settings and student needs

Preferred Credentials

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
• Written EIPA certification
• RID/NIC certification with written examination
• Experience with virtual interpretation services
• Knowledge of educational practices and terminology
