Summer Intern-LOGISTICS

Petmate/Doskocil Mfg., Inc was founded in 1960 as an innovative manufacturer and supplier of crates and kennels used by the airline industry to transport pets. Over the years, the Company added individual consumers to its market strategy and expanded its product offerings, both domestically and internationally. Today, doing business as Petmate, the Company manufactures and distributes a wide range of pet products under the Petmate brand and on a Private Label basis, including:

• Kennels & Carriers

• Bedding

• Shelters & Dog Houses

• Litter Maintenance

• Toys & Accessories

• Feeding & Watering

• Collars & Leashes

• Treats & Chews

Petmate is headquartered in Arlington, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth ‘Metroplex’. Come be a part of our team.

The internship program will be a paid, 10-week program beginning June 3, 2024, through August 9th, 2024. Our interns can expect to work 40 hrs./wk. during the 10-week period.

Must provide own housing arrangements in the DFW area and able to commute daily to Lancaster, TX. To gain the best experience and build relationships with the team, this role will be onsite 5 days a week.

SCOPE

Our summer program allows students to gain exposure and understanding in a variety of careers within the manufacturing and distribution industry. Interns in this program will gain exposure to the following areas:

• Logistics Software
• Freight Optimization/External Routing
• Import/Export Compliance
• Supply Chain Engagement
• Item Demand
• Report Management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate for this program will be an undergraduate in good standing at either a junior or senior level currently enrolled in a supply chain or logistics degree program.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

• Strong presentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
• Able to communicate with people at all levels.
• Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude toward self and others.
• Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.
• PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other software.
• Able to type data and use a PC for long periods of time.
