This position is a Grade: 9 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $55,200-$67,180 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Director of University Communications, write content and ensure the high quality of written communications and storytelling across all UCPA channels.
Write and adapt a variety of short- and long-form content, including editorial content and stories and additional written content across multiple mediums and for a variety of audiences.
Create written digital content to support thought leadership and support the Director of University Communications in preparing written content for institutional and executive leadership team.
Work with media relations and social media teams to publicize Lehigh research.
Ensure content adheres to Lehigh editorial guidelines and maintain style across all content.
Write, edit and revise print and digital copy as needed.
In collaboration with the web development team, utilize the SEO/AEO/GEO strategy and integrate keywords, headlines, meta tags and other tactics to improve ranking of content.
Leverage AI-driven tools to enhance and refine written content, while developing innovative storytelling ideas that advance the universitys content strategy and priorities.
In partnership with other communications staff across the university, identify storytelling opportunities and provide suggestions for alignment between cross-institution stories and the UCPA content strategy.
Develop content and creative plans to support storytelling across the university.
Serve as a writer for key Lehigh publications and contribute news and features.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including brand specialists, multimedia content producers, web developers, and designers to manage impactful written communications and content-related projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field
One to three years of related work experience
Demonstrated copywriting and editing skills
Ability to use appropriate brand guidelines to inform written content
Ability to build relationships across the University with experts at all levels
Ability to build trust and rapport with senior-level leadership
Commitment to staying organized with attention to detail
