General Information

Tell us about the unit(s):

· Number of Trucks – 14 peak

· Number of Staff – 110

· Type of staff:

o Day Shift – 8 CCT/ALS/BLS, 1 Wheel chair
Mid-Shift- 6 CCT/ALS/BLS, 1 Wheelchair

o Night Shift – 7 CCT/ALS/BLS, 1 Wheelchair

· Patient Ratios – 1 patient per transport. All levels of service provided (wheelchair, Behavioral Health, BLS, ALS & Critical Care.)

· Type of equipment – Zoll Cardiac Monitors, Baxter & Alaris IV Pump

· EMR – ESO

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for: 

Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

· One year of full time active pre-hospital care or equivalent.

· Must be over 21

· 2 years of satisfactory driving experience to meet established insurance guidelines

Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.

· Boarded with Buncombe County Medical Director

· Bachelors in EMS

· National Registry

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):   

· IV insertion

· Medication administration

Best personality Fit:

· Flexible, friendly

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

· ACLS, PALS, PHTLs /ITLS, BLS

· Must have and maintain North Carolina Paramedic Certification and CE requirements.

Floating Area(s):

· Behavioral Health Transport

· Also may work wheelchair van or BLS van dependent on scheduled transports and staffing needs of the day.
