Position: Safety Training Manager

Location: East Bay Area (On-site | Local candidates only)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Safety Training Manager to lead all safety education and training efforts across projects and facilities in the East Bay Area. This role focuses heavily on the educational side of safety—planning, leading, and delivering seminars, training sessions, and workforce development programs. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a strong safety culture through proactive, hands-on instruction and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead safety education programs, including instructor-led classroom training, field-based instruction, and online modules.
• Independently plan and facilitate safety seminars and recurring training sessions across all operational levels—from field staff to leadership.
• Collaborate with unions, third-party trainers, internal departments, and subject matter experts to align curriculum with project needs and regulatory standards.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (including Cal/OSHA) through regular training and documentation.
• Manage safety training records, documentation, and reporting through safety management systems (e.g., KPA or similar platforms).
• Support specialized training programs such as Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and others.
• Mentor and coach site safety staff through field observations, feedback, and professional development workshops.
• Lead companywide safety communications—develop Safety Flashes, Lessons Learned bulletins, superintendent updates, and toolbox talk content.
• Visit jobsites regularly to evaluate training effectiveness, observe implementation, and engage directly with field teams.
• Analyze injury and incident trends to develop and implement data-driven safety education strategies.
• Create and maintain technical training documents, safety manuals, and internal safety SOPs.

Required Qualifications

• Must be located in or able to commute daily to the East Bay Area
• Proven experience running safety training seminars and workforce development programs
• Minimum 5 years of safety training experience in construction, industrial, or related fields
• Minimum 8 years of total field experience in safety or construction operations
• In-depth knowledge of Cal/OSHA standards and other applicable safety regulations
• Experience using training or compliance management platforms
• CSP, CIH, CHST, or similar safety certification preferred but not required
