Job Description

A part-time Occupational Therapist is needed to provide specialized support within a K-12 school setting serving children and young adults ages 3 to 19 years, with a focus on the deaf and hard of hearing population. This role will primarily assist with evaluations and address diverse therapy needs to promote students functional success in the educational environment.

Position Details:

  • Location: Lowell, MA
  • Setting: K-12 School
  • Duration: September 29, 2025 May 1, 2026, with potential extension based on leave needs
  • Schedule: Part-time, 12 to 16 hours per week
  • Caseload: Students ages 3-19, primarily deaf or hard of hearing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support occupational therapy evaluations for students with diverse needs
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement intervention plans
  • Adapt therapy objectives to align with school-based goals and individual student needs
  • Document therapy sessions and progress reports in compliance with school regulations

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with home health, healthcare, or school-based experience
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in school-based occupational therapy
  • Strong desire or willingness to learn American Sign Language (ASL); ASL lessons will be provided
  • Ability to work effectively with a deaf/hard of hearing student population
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
