Your primary responsibilities will include:Chemotherapy: Prepare chemotherapeutic and biologic medications under aseptic technique. Verify patient information and ensure that the drug to be prepared matches the physician's order. Perform and verify mathematical calculations to determine appropriate drug dosage and volume.Support & Coordination: Provide support with inventory control of medications. Manage drug inventory utilizing a Nucleus Inventory Management Cabinet (or other comparable system). Assist with required cleaning and maintenance of the hood and surrounding areas. Assist in ordering supplies and medications. Receive and restock medications.Compliance: Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous drugs and waste materials following OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Maintain proper control documentation of medications, including lot numbers.Clinical Support: Admix drugs as ordered by a physician in an accurate and timely manner as per departmental guidelines. Prepare all drugs within USP 797/800 guidelines. Assist in keeping accurate temperature logs, accurate logs on all non-hazardous and hazardous drugs.Safety: Utilize appropriate PPE, ventilation equipment, and/or other safety devices per manufacturer and organizational guidelines.
