Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and professional Medical Courier Driver to join our team as an Independent Contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and safe transportation of pharmaceuticals to various healthcare facilities and patient homes. This role requires strict adherence to protocols for handling sensitive materials and ensuring compliance with all healthcare and transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick-up and Delivery: Collect and deliver pharmaceuticals between hospitals, clinics, and patient homes.
  • Timeliness: Ensure deliveries are made within specified timeframes, maintaining a punctual schedule to meet the needs of healthcare providers and patients.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for handling and transporting medical materials. Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and DOT regulations.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all necessary documentation, including delivery logs, chain of custody forms, and any other required paperwork.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the courier vehicle is in good working order, clean, and equipped with necessary supplies.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to clients, addressing any concerns or issues that arise during the delivery process.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with dispatch, clients, and supervisors regarding delivery status, delays, or other relevant information.
  • Confidentiality: Handle all medical information and materials with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a courier, especially in a medical or healthcare setting, is preferred but not required.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Vehicle: Must provide your own reliable vehicle with up-to-date insurance and registration. Ability to handle transportation of medical materials safely.
  • Expenses: Must pay for your own gas and vehicle maintenance.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Physical Requirements: Good physical stamina for long periods of driving and frequent stops.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with local area and ability to navigate efficiently.
  • Technology: Basic proficiency with smartphones and GPS devices for navigation and communication.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation:

  • This is an independent contractor position with compensation based on per delivery or mileage rates. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.
