We operate national and provincial lotteries in partnership with 3500 retail partners, provide games, technology & oversight to 37 brick & mortar casinos, and operate a safe secure and 100% legal online gambling presence PlayNow.com. In our recently completed fiscal year, BCLC generated a record $1.636 billion in net income for the Province of B.C. to support First Nations, local host governments, health care, education and community programs across the province.

The Team


Our Finance and Corporate Services division is a broad group consisting of Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Decision Support, Procurement, Business Continuity, Corporate Facilities and Business Services. There are a wide array of professions including accountants & specialists that keep our company fiscally responsible, keeping the business running effectively in an environment conducive to doing great work.


Our Corporate Facilities Team operates two corporate offices: a government owned asset in Kamloops and a leased space in Vancouver. They are responsible for ongoing maintenance, repair, operations and enhancements of two office & warehouse locations with significant capital and operating budgets for work including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, furniture and more, performed directly by a series of vendors and property management companies.



The Role


Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services & Facilities, the Manager, Corporate Facilities provides leadership to a seasoned team of operations professionals and manages complex and detailed maintenance, repair, operations & enhancements work in each location. They will own relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including employees, communications teams & our executive, as well as external vendors, the City of Kamloops, and our property manager in Vancouver.



What you will accomplish

  • You’ll manage significant capital and operating budgets for facility operations and maintenance 
  • You’ll work closely with the Manager, Corporate Facilities Projects to execute on a roadmap for sustainable/low carbon/low impact facility enhancements including roof, building envelope, and geothermal and other project work of various size, scope and visibility
  • You’ll forge relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders both internal to BCLC and external
  • You’ll develop a strategic roadmap for maintenance improvements and lead the collection and analysis of relevant data that will aid in decision making
  • You’ll implement a system to evaluate performance and relationships with service providers and manage contracts proactively when necessary



What will make you successful

  • You are a communicator, able to handle space planning requests & negotiate with sensitivity, handle difficult conversations & relay detailed information into digestible content for various audiences
  • You’ve worked on capital and operations facilities projects with significant budget and scope
  • You have a strategic mindset, an ability to build roadmaps, and execute on plan and on budget
  • You’re analytical, able to evaluate incoming requests in the context of need & budget while seeing the bigger picture with many competing requests on the go at one time



It would be awesome if you also had

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), familiarity with Lean methodologies
  • A working knowledge of geothermal systems and other modern facilities enhancements
