A large dairy operation located in Michigan is searching for a hands-on experienced Dairy Manager to oversee the day to day operation of the dairy. The employer is looking for a Dairy Manager who has strong supervising skills, who can lead and motivate the dairy team. Will ensure protocols and procedures are followed. Strong knowledge of herd health and must be experienced in AI breeding. This position will be responsible for utilizing herd management software, recording cow movement, inventory, and ordering supplies. Will work with the veterinarian, nutritionist, and other vendors. Will also be responsible for overseeing feed inventory and will work with the feed crew. The ability to speak Dairy Spanish is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience managing an operation
- Strong Dairy Management experience
- Strong supervising skills
- Excellent leadership / motivational skills
- Prefer 2 or 4 year degree, but not required
- Strong herd health
- Strong AI breeding experience
- Inventory / supply experience
- Excellent record keeping skills
- Feed / Nutrition knowledge
- Dairy Spanish a plus
