Position Summary:

Aureon Consulting is seeking a seasoned Systems Analyst with strong COBOL development experience to join a collaborative team of mainframe and mid-tier developers. This role involves supporting and maintaining a legacy administration system while contributing to its modernization. The ideal candidate will help deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency and maintain exceptional customer service.

This is a direct, full-time opportunity that requires onsite work in Fargo, ND.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality applications that support business operations.
• Identify technical challenges and propose effective solutions aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to enhance system functionality.
• Take ownership of complex tasks, adapt quickly, and implement improvements based on feedback.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelors degree in a STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Strong planning, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with COBOL and JCL in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with Java development or a strong willingness to learn Java as part of system modernization.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow professionally.
• Basic leadership and presentation skills.
